

Proper and safe use of tools for repair of equipment.Maintain a clean and orderly service area, keeping tools and supplies in proper place.Maintaining all required records of work orders and scheduled maintenance.Under supervision, will work with construction related equipment including hand and power tools, as well as chemicals and cleaning agents.Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.Replace light bulbs throughout Rec sports facilities.(filters, pumps, motors, control systems, lighting systems, etc.). Assist in the repair of building systems and equipment.Perform building and equipment preventative maintenance tasks.Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals.Keep facilities in excellent condition while also providing great customer service to our members.Assist with fitness equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.Follow the preset guidelines for routine cleaning ad inspection of all fitness equipment.Attend monthly and semester trainings and in-services. Respond to emergencies and/or injuries within the scope of training.Complete a variety of tasks such as taking out compost, organizing weight plates, etc.Effectively communicate with weight room lead, facility supervisor, and patrons of the recreation center.Help patrons with general equipment questions and rec services questions.Report broken equipment and other facility issues.Rotate to designated area and roam assigned space to ensure safe and organized facility.Frequently clean, inspect and maintain equipment.Choose a positive attitude, have fun, strive to make everyone’s day a little better be present, engaged, and attentive during each interaction.Perform other work and duties as assigned.Complete supervisor forms and documents including hourly counts, daily checklist tasks and report facility issues.Bring forward ideas for improvement from both employee and user perspectives. Follow department policies both as an employee and participant. Be an advocate and active promoter of Rec Services programs and facilities.This position participates in the development of ideas and suggestions for program and facility improvement by using the various facilities and equipment periodically to ensure that they are meeting or exceeding the standards of the department.Work mandatory Guest Services shifts (two breaks per academic year, locker impounding and cleanout, extra hours at the start of the semester, and early/late event shifts as needed).Attend monthly and semester trainings and in-services.Maintain a current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification at all times and successfully demonstrate skills through audits, in-services and situations at the Rec Center Respond to emergencies and/or injuries within the scope of your training.Perform laundry service to ensure towels are available for checkout at all times complete other department laundry as needed.Properly check out equipment and maintain accurate inventory of equipment items.Actively control patron access and address any membership questions or issues.Enforce department policies and procedures consistently with all patrons.Address each question like it is the first time you’ve heard it, anticipate needs by providing all the information you can, continue to seek new knowledge around our facilities, programs, and operations.Provide outstanding customer service to all patrons, guests and visitors.Choose a positive attitude, have fun, strive to make everyone’s day a little better and be present, engaged and attentive during each interaction (GO Fish!).
